Knotted X Grosmimi FAQ
Common questions answered to help you make informed and confident choices.
1
How is PPSU different from regular PP?
PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) is a premium material with significantly higher heat resistance and durability compared to standard PP (Polypropylene). PP is more prone to surface wear and degradation from repeated washing and sterilization, which can increase the risk of microplastic release over time. PPSU's superior durability means it withstands daily use with far less wear — resulting in significantly lower microplastic generation compared to PP.
2
Can I sterilize the parts with boiling water?
Yes! Bring water to a boil, then turn off the heat before placing parts in. Boiling parts while the heat is on may cause deformation or damage.
A. Silicone Straw: Under 30 seconds
B. PP Parts (Handle, Cap, Ring): Under 30 seconds
C. PPSU Cup Body: Under 5 minutes
Important: Always disassemble all parts before sterilizing, and sterilize each part separately according to the times above.
3
The straw keeps tearing, what should I do?
As babies grow and begin teething, they naturally chew on the straw, which can cause it to tear over time. If this happens frequently, it's time to switch to Stage 2 — a firmer straw designed to withstand biting.
4
Why is my cup leaking?
This is usually caused by pressure buildup. The temperature difference between the liquid inside and the air outside creates internal pressure that can push liquid out. After filling the cup, always press the air valve on the lid to release pressure before use.
If it still leaks, check the cross-cut at the tip of the straw — if it's torn or damaged, it can break the seal. Replace the straw if needed.
